Watercolor is the newest media that I’ve tackled this year. My media of choice are typically oil paints, however due to my lungs not favoring oils, I’ve taken a deep dive into acrylics and watercolors, which do not affect my lungs at all. The learning curve for both new medias, however, was vast but I’ve come to understand and love both of them in their own right.
Mr. Roo is our family’s rooster on our Texas ranch. He is a handsome Rhode Island Red Rooster. He is not the nicest around, but he definitely protects our hens well. Mr. Roo has actually lost all of his tail feathers, two different times, while fending off predators. To us this protection is priceless. He did attack my husband once, however, and put five large holes into the calves of his legs with his ever so sharp talons. My husband said he only gets one more chance! Yikes.
Meanwhile, I thought I’d capture him in paint before his possible departure either by predators or my husband. LOL
Mr. Roo is currently displayed at a watercolor show that you’ll be able to see in the video below.
